[9.9.17] This Week: Help Us Send a Message to Governor Cuomo

Next General Meeting: September 14, 7:30pm, Brooklyn Commons, 388 Atlantic Avenue

with Special Guest: Counsel to the Governor, Alphonso David

Deadly natural disasters–from flooding in Texas and South Asia to fires in the western US to Hurricane Irma–have been dominating the news. Every one of them is made worse by climate change, yet politicians refuse to act as if we are living in the midst of a climate emergency. Now is the time to tell Governor Cuomo that he must be a leader on climate change. And we need your help.

At our next monthly meeting, come hear Counsel to the Governor Alphonso David speak about Governor Cuomo’s policies on climate change and make sure he hears from us. This is an important opportunity to show the governor that Brooklynites believe that climate change must be a priority for the governor and the state. Take a minute to share the event on your Facebook page.

We want to hand Alphonso David stacks of signed letters urging the Governor to take leadership by making polluters pay for their emissions.

Here’s what you can do:

Collect physical signatures
We need volunteers to canvas the neighborhood to get signatures. Can you help for an hour or two this week?

Email Ari at if you can help.

Digital sign & share
If you can’t make it out into the neighborhood, sign this e-letter, and then share it on social media as far and as wide as you can.

Sign and share the letter now: https://goo.gl/forms/yCu7AahwddUa1r9h1

And we hope to see you there on September 14 to send a message to Governor Cuomo: New York must lead on climate change. Lives depend on it.
