Building Resilience to Climate in NYC

Climate change is no longer a distant threat—it’s already affecting our neighborhoods, homes, and daily lives. From flash floods to extreme heat, the impacts of climate change are undeniably more apparent in New York City. In response, 350 Brooklyn is launching a new set of conversations and gatherings focused on how we can respond to this global issue— together.

“Facing the Future: Building Resilience to Climate in NYC” is a series of talks, workshops, tours, and conversations about building resilience in NYC in the face of the climate crisis. The series will provide the opportunity for participants to talk, learn, and take action around the local effects of the climate crisis. Individuals and neighbors will learn about actions they can take, including how to advocate for smarter city policies. Each event will highlight practical steps necessary to care for individual communities and the environment.

Resources from each topic or event are gathered here. If you’re interested in volunteering to make this series a reality, join our Facing the Future workgroup!
