June 20th
The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is an annual art parade, the largest in the nation, and an iconic NYC summer event. Our contingent will be highlighting offshore wind, because burning fossil fuels is bad for the oceans.. and mermaids! We’ll be inviting people to take action to support wind power. We’ll need help with carrying artwork, distributing flyers, and making wind power look cool. It’s both fun and impactful!
Registration is necessary and there is a registration fee of $35 for those who are able to pay.
Please sign up here.
May 30th, 12pm
What’s almost as much fun as the parade? Making costumes and props! Come to the Greenpoint Library on May 30 to help us turn fabric, sequins and more—donated by our friends at FabScrap and Big Reuse—into mermaid tails, mini-turbines and windmills.Â
No sign up is necessary- jsut show up!
