General Meeting Featuring “Local Politics 101” with Ben Yee, 8/13, 7pm

Benjamin Yee is a political organizer and founder of ShiftSpark.com. He has extensive experience in civic tech, fundraising and party politics. In 2007, Ben began his life in organizing working for the Obama Campaign as a fundraiser and, later, NY State Digital Director. He then went on to join the Manhattan Young Democrats, serving as Vice President and focusing on engaging young New Yorkers in local issues. Since 2010, Ben has served as the Downstate Region Vice President for the New York State Young Democrats and President of Manhattan Young Democrats. He is currently the First Vice President of the Young Democrats of America and Third Vice Chair of the Manhattan County Democratic Party. Ben has spent most of his work life in technology and open government. He is currently working on ShiftSpark, a startup which enables accountable political donations through crowd-funded, grassroots lobbying.
